Permanent Mirage, Radion, Amsterdam (2024)
Permanent Mirage is a collaborative project by Cóilín O'Connell and Cillian Finnerty, which takes as its starting point the dual meanings of the terms 'hoard': both as the compulsive accumulation of often worthless objects, and as a term for a valuable archaeological find.
Comprising collage, found-object assemblage, and sculptural works, the exhibition explored what happens when currency, images, commodities, or energies are removed from circulation, held in suspense, or when flows of value are interrupted. An artists publication of the same title was produced to coincide with the exhibition, it can be viewed here.
Documentation by Joeri Bosma, curated by Seán O'Ríordan.
